Overall great visibility, a nice driving environment and a very smooth petrol engine. It’s a joy to be back in the Tiguan, obviously things have improved. You now have the digital cluster which is very nicely styled, new flat bottom steering wheel which feels nice to hold, the seats are wide and supportive. The gear shifts are snappy, quick, responsive and the eagerness is a step up.

The Tiguan is sharper, nicer, more rounded and more approachable as an SUV. It has a typical Volkswagen design, clean, fuss less and timeless.

The Tiguan retains its original silhouette of being an understated yet classy looking SUV and in its latest update, it brings on some bling with the added chrome on the grille and sporting the new VW badge. Just like the exterior, the interior of the Tiguan reflects the same elegant understated looks with a largely all black colour scheme balanced with a light coloured roof liner and a big panoramic sunroof. The plastics are top quality, feel great to the touch and a lot of soft touch materials have been used around the cabin to make it feel more plush.

Life's come full circle for the Tiguan, and the good news is that on the face of it, the Tiguan is fresh enough to pass off as a new car, with an even more polished look to it now. The all-wheel drive seems to work quietly in the background to give you good drive even on gravelly surfaces, never losing composure.

The SUV handles like a charm, taking everything in its stride, with utmost ease. The new steering unit is an electromechanical speed-sensitive power steering, which weighs up nicely as the speed progresses, thus imparting more confidence at higher speeds. The NVH levels are also very good.

On the go, the updated Tiguan feels a lot livelier than before. The power delivery is sprightly and smooth, and the RPM meter pulls cleanly all the way up to the 6,000 rpm mark. There are even three different driving modes that slightly alter the performance. Ride quality is quite excellent, with the Tiguan soaking up bad roads with relative ease.
