Volkswagen Ameo Cup 2018

Volkswagen Motorsport enters its 9th year in India. With the Ameo made especially for India in India, we introduced the Ameo Cup in 2017. As part of the championship twenty drivers will compete for the top honors while being coached throughout the season.

The goal for us is to groom India’s next international racing star. Being a ‘One-Make-Championship’ all participating cars are technically identical with the same performance specifications making it possible for only the most skilled drivers to leave an impact. This ensures parity of all the cars and allows the driver’s skill to shine through. The Race Ameo is the most advanced cup car from Volkswagen in terms of electronics, chassis and powertrain, which puts it on par with many international race cars. The Race Ameo gives the drivers a better platform to hone their skills and take the right steps towards an international racing career. The renowned car racing series has been able to put a lot of emerging talent on the global map by training and exposing the young drivers with the latest technological advancements for higher racing categories.

The race program comprises of four race weekends at the three race tracks across India- Coimbatore, Chennai and Delhi. The winner of our championship is given an opportunity to show case his or her talent in a higher level formula series in India, and internationally through our driver exchange program.

The added benefit of our motorsport program is that it helps to showcase the qualities that set Volkswagen cars apart. Motorsport not only demonstrates our build quality, reliability, safety and excellent driving dynamics but it is also a platform we use to improve our cars.

Over the last eight years, Volkswagen Motorsport India has become the benchmark for quality and reliability of cars and the training that it imparts to young drivers in India.

Ready yourself for the Ameo Cup - Round 2 at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai. This circuit offers an exciting mix of quick bends and long straights that's a feast to the spectators and the drivers too.
