Mumbai: Volkswagen India revealed the design philosophy of its upcoming flagship SUV, the Tayron R-Line, offering a first look at how the brand is entering the premium 7-seater space. 12 months after its European launch, the Tayron R-Line makes its way to India, underscoring the brand’s intent to bring globally relevant products to Indian customers without delay.

The Tayron R-Line marks a clear evolution of the brand’s global SUV design, combining strong proportions with the sporty sophistication of the R-Line trim.

Already recognised in Europe with the prestigious Golden Steering Wheel 2025 award for Best Family Car and a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, the Tayron arrives in the Indian market with proven credentials in safety, design, and everyday performance.

Speaking about the design language, Mr. Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “We’re pleased to introduce the Tayron R-Line to India so soon after its global debut, backed by strong European recognition and awards for safety and family appeal. The Tayron R-Line is not just about size, but presence. It is designed to feel strong and protective on the outside, while offering a calm, spacious environment inside. Every line and material reflects modern German luxury: purposeful, precise, and premium.” 

Exterior Design: Stronger, More Confident and Purposeful

Interior Design: Digital and Spacious: Inside, the Tayron R-Line introduces a cleaner, more digital cabin layout focused on space and ease of use. The horizontal dashboard enhances width, while a new floating 15-inch infotainment screen angled towards the driver acts as the main control hub.

Seating, Space and Practicality: Designed as a true 7-seater, the Tayron R-Line makes full use of its long 2,789 mm wheelbase to deliver generous space across all three rows.

  • Premium Seating: Front seats feature ergoActive Plus technology with premium Varenna leather upholstery, 10-point pressure massage, and active ventilation - features that place the Tayron firmly ahead in comfort within its segment.
  • Flexible Utility: With up to 850 liters of boot space (third row folded), the Tayron R-Line balances comfort with everyday usability. Rear seating is designed to ensure comfort, visibility, and openness, further enhanced by a large panoramic sunroof that brings in natural light.
