Monsoon Care

Brave the rains in your Volkswagen
Get your car monsoon-ready

During the monsoon season, it's essential to take care of your car for safe and enjoyable driving. Follow these monsoon car care tips to ensure a trouble-free experience on wet roads.

During heavy rainfall, clear visibility is of the utmost importance. This can often be hindered by windshield fogging caused due to the condensation of water droplets.

Hence, it is advisable to keep control of the cabin temperatures and ensure you minimise the temperature difference inside & outside the cabin. In order to keep your windshields clean, keep a check on the operations of the windshield defogger & wipers.

When driving through heavy rains or large puddles, it is common for cars to have a wet brake. This can cause an issue while steering or abruptly stop your vehicle.

Therefore, it is advisable to take your car to a certified technician and ensure that your brakes are dry and in top-notch condition.

Just like your eyeglasses fog during the monsoons, your car’s headlight lens fogging up is not an abnormal phenomenon.

To ensure absolute clarity, keep your headlights on for 15 minutes before driving in an area that has no illumination. It is best to swap your headlights for newer ones that provide an even beam.

Proper tyre pressure is essential to maintain the vehicle stability and ride comfort. During monsoons, tyres are prone to wear and tear as they work in extreme conditions.

Make sure that your tyres have enough tread depth by checking the tread indicator. Once the tread wears off, it is best to replace your tyres for a new one. It is always recommended to keep a spare tyre and keep an eye on its condition too.

The pouring rains can cause an increase in fluid loss, corrosion of the battery and loose terminal connections. So, if your battery is old, it is recommended to get it tested by a certified technician at your nearest Volkswagen service centre.
