Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

The tyre pressure monitoring system informs the driver of the current tyre pressure before and during the journey. For this purpose, sensors are integrated into each wheel (including the spare wheel) as well as the wheel electronics. The wheels transmits radio signals to a control unit located at the rear end. These signals provide information about tyre pressure and temperature. In addition, each electronic unit communicates its own code so that it is possible to locate which wheel is affected. If tyre pressure is too low or if there is a sudden loss of pressure, the driver is warned by optical and/or acoustic signals. The monitoring system helps the driver to keep a check on tyre pressure. The fact that the tyres are permanently monitored guarantees a high level of safety. The correct tyre pressure helps to prolong the service life of the tyres and cuts fuel consumption. Note: The tyre pressure monitoring system does not relieve drivers of their responsibility for making sure the correct tyre pressure is maintained.
