Skyhook Principle (Suspension Damping)Skyhook Principle (Suspension Damping)

A skyhook damping system features sensors which register the acceleration of the body and wheels and equalise them by adjustment of the dampers. It adapts to the driving conditions and minimises the roll and pitch tendencies of the vehicle.
Skyhook damping enables the suspension to cope with any pothole and any bump on the road surface.
In the Touareg, the six-stage ride height control enables the vehicle to adapt to a wide range of driving situations. Four of the control stages can be selected manually.
