Occupant CellOccupant Cell

The occupant cell is the space within which all the vehicle passengers are situated. It forms a “rigid” safety cage. In contrast to the deformation zones, or crumple zones, of the body, it is not easily deformed and is therefore able to protect the survival space of the occupants in accidents up to a certain severity of impact. The characteristics of the occupant cell are optimised by measures such as crash tests.
