The PREMIUM telephone preparation uses Bluetooth radio technology – a wireless connection between compatible devices – to access your mobile phone. It is fundamentally no different from a permanently installed telephone. The special feature is that the system detects that your mobile phone is present in the vehicle, receives all the SIM and GSM data from the mobile and utilises them. For that purpose the PREMIUM system transfers all the relevant information to the vehicle system via Bluetooth using the remote SIM access profile.
The advantage is that with just one SIM card all the directories stored in the mobile phone are also fully available in the vehicle. The connection to the external aerial is made automatically, without the driver having to take the mobile out of his/her pocket or operate it. There is no longer any need for a clumsy mobile phone holder on the dashboard, and there is no critical exposure to radio waves in the interior of the vehicle.
