Front Assist

"Front Assist" is based on the ordinary cruise control system. The speed selected by the driver is reduced to that of the vehicle ahead, if the vehicle ahead is moving more slowly. This is achieved by automatic application of the brakes and intervention to control the vehicle's acceleration.
By selecting different time gaps, the driver can adjust the distance maintained by the "Front Assist" function. Apart from its function in "Front Assist", the radar system also detects situations where the distance to the vehicle in front is critical and helps to reduce the vehicle's stopping distance when required. The system also warns the driver of a dangerous situation with visual and acoustic signals and with a braking jolt.
