Aspherical door mirrors feature a split mirror surface, part of which has a convex curvature. This increases the field of view afforded by the mirror. Correctly adjusting an aspherical door mirror to the driver's seat position almost totally eliminates the blind spot. All models in the Volkswagen passenger car range are fitted with an aspherical door mirror on the driver's side.
